The Association of Airworthiness Professionals (AAP) was founded in November of 2015 as a non-profit corporation with a vision to foster Innovation and Excellence in Airworthiness and a Mission to Advance and Promote airworthiness in industry, government, academia and individuals. AAP is a member run organization overseen by a board of directors and led by an elected slate of officers.
In the December election AAP members selected new officers for 2026. We are excited about the new year and the promise this new slate of officers bring to our organization.

AAP welcomed board members, individual and corporate members, and Dr. Kurt Barnhart, KSU-Salina in a special presentation during the AA&S 2025 Conference.
A check in the amount of $52,000 was presented to Dr. Barnhart to endow the
Association of Airworthiness Professionals Scholarship
at Kansas State University - Salina.
The fully endowed scholarship supports students pursuing the Master of Science in Aerospace and following the Certification Option.
Scholarships totaling $1000 were awarded in the fall of 2025 to two graduate students.
2026 will again see the award of a $1000 scholarship.
Beginning in 2027, the scholarship increases to $2000 per year.
As the endowment grows, both through investments and additional giving by AAP, our members, and others, the scholarship amount will also grow thus providing scholarships to students for all future years.
